Who we are
Golden State Pest Control (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a California-licensed pest control business (CA Lic. #13070) serving Los Angeles County, San Fernando Valley, Orange County, Ventura County, and surrounding Southern California. This policy explains how we handle the personal information you share with us through our website, customer portal, and service relationship.
Information we collect
When you fill out a quote form, request a webinar, or sign up for service, we collect:
- Your name and business or property name
- Email address and phone number
- Service address and pest concern
- For active customers: service history, scheduled visits, invoices, payment status, and documents we provide (service reports, IPM plans, etc.)
Our website uses first-party analytics (no third-party tracking pixels) to measure which pages and CTAs work. We store a session identifier in a cookie and a salted hash of your IP — we never store your raw IP address.
How we use it
- Contact you about your service request or scheduled visit
- Deliver pest control service and the documentation that comes with it
- Send service reminders, completion notifications, and monthly summary reports
- Process payment when you pay an invoice online (handled by Square — see below)
- Measure marketing effectiveness in aggregate
How we share it
We don't sell your data. We share only with vendors necessary to deliver the service:
- Square — when you pay an invoice online, Square processes the card. We don't store card numbers; Square does, in compliance with PCI standards.
- DrewOS — our customer portal and CRM software. Your information is encrypted at rest and is only accessible to our authorized staff.
- Google — we use Google Workspace for email + calendar, and Google Drive for storing service reports. Files stored in Drive use a narrow OAuth scope so only files our app creates are visible.
We will share information when legally required (court order, subpoena) or when necessary to prevent fraud or harm.
Your California rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you're a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you
- Request that we delete your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information (note: we don't sell or share data with third-party advertisers)
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any right, email goldenstatepest@gmail.com with “CCPA Request” in the subject line. We'll respond within 45 days.
Data retention
We retain service records (visits, applications, invoices) for at least 2 years to comply with California Department of Pesticide Regulation record-keeping requirements. Marketing contact information stays on file until you ask us to delete it.
Security
Tokens and credentials are encrypted at rest. Documents are accessed only through authenticated portal sessions. Payments are tokenized by Square. We use HTTPS for every request to our website and portal.
Children
Our service is for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We'll update this policy if our practices change. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
